- Mintage: 26,700. 20 graded XF-40, 86 higher at NGC. A coin has to be conditionally scarce when it is of sufficiently low population to warrant statistical mention at the XF-40 level, and the limited-emission 1877-S is certainly just that. Evenly worn but peppered with innumerable minute ticks, the greyish gold surface offers circulation-smoothed devices and bold outlines of the interior details.
