Lot Description

1724 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.30-K.1, W-13690. Rarity-2. AU-53 BN (NGC). Glossy olive-copper and sandy-brown surfaces are attractively original. Well struck and boldly defined throughout. The in hand appearance is pleasingly smooth, this despite a microscopically rough texture that accuracy alone compels us to mention. All in all a lovely AU to represent this scarcer date in the Wood's Hibernia halfpenny series. PCGS# 190.
