- Far scarcer than its identically dated No Motto counterpart, the 1908 Motto commences a run of low mintage Philadelphia Mint double eagles that continued through 1920. Just 156,258 circulation strikes of the 1908 Motto were produced. That offered here is a lovely near-Gem example with billowy mint luster and vivid golden-orange color.
