Among Liberty Seated half dollars the 1844-O WB-22 is one of the most spectacular and eagerly sought varieties, a dramatic and widely spaced repunched date with bold remnants of four extra digits between the primary date and rock support. This is a pleasing mid-grade example with warm golden-gray and light russet patina engaging both sides. All major design elements remain bold in the presence of moderate wear, the blundered date clear and readily appreciable under magnification.
