Lot Description

1870 Gold Dollar. MS-64+ (PCGS). CAC. An attractive Choice Mint State example of this issue, from an original mintage of only 6,300 coins. Exceptionally well struck with frosty mint luster and light honey-gold patina. The surfaces are free of distracting blemishes. Wispy die striations (as struck, and not to be confused with pin scratches) reside in the upper reverse field. PCGS# 7569. Provenance: From the Elmer C. Welden Collection.
