Lot Description

1891 Liberty Nickel. Proof-65 Ultra Cameo (NGC). Brilliant and flashy with no signs of toning whatsoever. The frost on the devices is heaped high, while the mirror fields sink away into blackness unless caught directly in the light. Incredible contrast and a rare format with the Ultra Cameo designation as just a handful of these qualify with this degree of contrast. Finding one in Gem is a true delight. A few trivial planchet flakes common to these nickel planchets, but no specks, spots or similar detractions are seen.
