- 1865 Nickel Three-Cent Piece. Proof-66 (NGC). This is a gorgeous specimen, with much stronger eye appeal than usual, for the three-cent nickel type. Fully struck, with noticeable repunching on the date, and lovely orange-tan and olive toning. Expertly preserved, with seemingly pristine surfaces. PCGS# 3761.
