Lot Description

1722-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11840. Fine-15. 83.0 grains. Medium olive brown with subtly granular surfaces. Good eye appeal, mintmark soft and interrupted by rim at base of obverse, reverse legends tight to rim around entire circumference with BENEDICTUM SIT appearing quite weak. No bad marks or flaws. Even pieces at this grade level are above average for the series, particularly so when relatively problem-free. PCGS# 158629. Provenance: From the Ted L. Craige Collection.
