Lot Description

<strong>Obv:</strong> Standard Silver design with a bust of Liberty facing right, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the border and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST on a scroll below. Liberty is wearing a cap ornamented with three stars. <strong>Rev:</strong> The denomination 10 CENTS surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, the inscription STANDARD SILVER above and the date 1869 below. Sharply struck and generally bright silver-white in appearance, a few areas of light tin pest on both sides and a minor planchet lamination at upper right preclude a full Gem grade, but are minimally distracting during in hand viewing. Fewer than a dozen examples of this Judd number are known, per the <em>uspatterns.com</em> website.
