What a gorgeous GEM 1887 half dollar. Both sides are awash in a cobalt, turquoise, apricot, tangerine, and rose-gold that really pop in the light. The underlying mirrored brilliance is reflective and really brings the colorful surfaces to life. The eye appeal is excellent. Only 710 Proofs were struck. PCGS 10, NGC 14. The most recent example sold for $2,880 in December 2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $6,500 and NGC has graded just five finer in the designation.
