Lot 1531 1868 Pattern Ten Cents. Copper, plain edge. Judd-648. Pollock-721. PCGS graded Proof 63 Red & Brown.Die of the design of a large cent 1853 to 1857 with the head of Liberty surrounded by stars, date below. The reverse is a continuous wreath with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounding and TEN / CENTS at the center. Nicely toned with some deeper accents on the obverse, and a popular resurrection of the Large Cent last struck in 1857 more than a decade earlier, updated wit a new denomination.
