1951 Franklin Half Dollar. Proof-68 (NGC). CAC. At the threshold of numismatic perfection, this gorgeous Superb Gem is fully untoned with intense silver-white surfaces. There is a modest satin texture to the design elements, although there is not quite enough contrast with the mirrored fields to support a CAM designation. A beautiful specimen and a conditionally scarce survivor of the scarcest Proof Franklin half dollar issue after only the first year 1950. Provenance: From the Pittstown Collection.
