Sheldon-11c with the lettered edge, per PCGS. S-11 has three distinct edge subvarieties, including S-11a with vine and bars, S-11b with two leaves / DOLLAR, and the present S-11c with a single leaf. Of course, the slab insert partially obscures the edge but quick examination confirms attribution. Predominant Hershey-brown covers this example except across a broad portion of the hair where light rub brings out some olive-bronze highlighting. Two prominent digs in the obverse upper left field cannot be missed although it is possible that they existed prior to striking. The bust shows bold outlining with noticeably strong separation between the hair and face, and more than half of each digit shows in the date.
