- 1842 Liberty Half Eagle. Small Letters. AU-50 (NGC). A richly patinated, olive-orange piece that comes down to us with overall light wear to the obverse. The reverse is more sharply defined with less rub to report. Partially lustrous at the lower reaches of AU, and free of sizeable or otherwise individually distracting abrasions.
