. Glossy chocolate brown with bold design features and lasting all-around eye appeal. Absolutely mark-free to the unaided eye, and other than a fleck of detritus at the E of AMERICA on the reverse, the surfaces are sound and otherwise blemish-free. Gobrecht’s “Booby Head” design—not nicknamed by the creator – is among the most robust and pleasing portraits of American Liberty to this writer, and is reminiscent of his 1838-1839 gold eagle design.
