1872 Octagonal $1. BG-1119. Rarity-5+. Indian Head. MS-63 (PCGS). Modestly prooflike golden-honey surfaces are sharply defined over the focal features. Faint planchet laminations over the lower half of the obverse are as made. An elusive type in all grades, the present example offers Choice Mint State quality and an impressive provenance.
