This is an exceedingly HIGH-END piece. We think the deeper toning is why PCGS did not designate it a MS67. Superb surfaces are as perfect as you will ever see. Even using a strong glass there are no imperfections to be found. The luster is moderate and deeper toning evenly blankets both sides in totally original shades of brown/forest green/pale navy that swirl all over. Every detail is sharply struck. The eye appeal is good. PCGS 9, NGC 5, CAC 6. PCGS has graded only 1 coin finer-the Simpson MS67. The current Collector’s Universe value is $15,000. Since 1998 there have been only 5 auction appearances of any MS66 1855's. The rarity of this date in GEM, can NOT be over stated. Cert. Number 25050026 PCGS # 3671
