- 1844-C Liberty Quarter Eagle. AU-50 (PCGS). All 1844-C quarter eagles are weakly struck, according to Doug Winter, and this piece is no exception. The eagle's head, wings, legs and talons are especially soft, but this is simply a fact of life for the issue. A aesthetically pleasing coin, in fact, with just a couple of minor abrasions noted in the upper reverse field. PCGS# 7735.
