1860 Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Proof-66 (NGC). Equally smooth on both sides, and solidly graded at the upper reaches of Gem quality, the obverse of this coin is much more vividly toned than the reverse. On the former side we see beautiful target-like toning in antique-gold, cobalt-blue and rose-apricot iridescence that is most vivid when observed with the aid of a strong light. The reverse exhibits lighter, even patination in a pinkish-silver hue. A razor-sharp, well-mirrored beauty that belongs in a high-quality set.
