1852 Augustus Humbert $50 Gold. Reeded Edge. K-11. Rarity-5. 887 THOUS. VF-35 (PCGS). Presenting quite well for a moderately circulated Fifty-Dollar "slug," this Humbert piece exhibits dominant olive-gold color to both sides. The surfaces do brighten a bit to more of a yellow-gold sheen as the coin dips into a light. Well defined for the grade, especially around the central obverse, with perhaps the expected number of small-to-large-size abrasions for VF example of the type. A few digs and scrapes in the obverse field are noted.
