1748-A French Colonies Half Sou Marque. Paris Mint. Vlack-297. Rarity-2. AU-55 (PCGS). 15.6 grains. Easily the finest-graded example of this issue, at PCGS, where just one other coin has been graded, at VG-10. The design motifs are well detailed overall, and the surfaces are smooth and virtually free of post-strike damage. A handful of shallow planchet laminations, on the reverse, are of little detriment to the appealing visual quality of the piece.
