1874 Shield Nickel. MS-66 (PCGS). A fully struck, satiny Gem with an essentially untoned appearance overall. Although not the most frequently encountered Mint State Shield nickel in today's market, the 1874 exists in large enough numbers that locating an example in grades through MS-64 should not prove to be too difficult a task.
