1854 Octagonal 25 Cents. BG-104. Rarity-4. Liberty Head. MS-65 (PCGS). Pale golden-gray surfaces exhibit satiny design elements that contrast modestly with semi-reflective fields. A pleasing example of a variety that actually circulated during the early years of the California Gold Rush era. In fact, by 1860, an example of this variety had been added to the Mint's cabinet as a representative of "California Coins." Provenance: From the Oregon Collection.
