Lot Description

1913 Barber Quarter. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS). A blend of olive-gold and lavender iridescence adorns the surfaces of this lovely Gem Cameo Proof. The watery fields emphasize the devices with remarkable contrast, most notably so on the obverse. Perhaps only 550 examples survive from the original mintage of 613 pieces, and the vast majority of these are in grades of Proof-64 and lower. In Gem, this issue becomes considerably scarce, and even more so when a Cameo designation is taken into consideration. Only 13 coins have been grade finer by PCGS in this category.
