Lot Description

Put a loupe upon the surface and impetus for the star designation becomes immediately obvious. Blatantly attractive album toning encircles both sides, surrounding the devices with a beautiful framework of indigo-magenta, pink, chartreuse-orange and cosmic yellow-cobalt hues. Astute collectors may examine the devices very closely and discover intriguing signs of die tooling within the points of the star -- evidence that the obverse die needed some "extra" work to make it ready for proof production. An amazing type coin no matter how one looks at it!
