1870 Shield Nickel. FS-801. Doubled Die Reverse. MS-65 (NGC). The satiny and highly lustrous golden-gray surfaces of this Gem Shield nickel exhibit boldly struck motifs and pale champagne-gold iridescenc on both sides. The doubling on the reverse is boldest at TED and the S in CENTS. A scarce error.
