Glints of original mint frost peer through an overlay of pearl gray, sandy-gold and, at the peripheries, russet patina. Well centered, the strike is generally bold, but we note common (for the variety) softness at Liberty's bust and in the opposing area within the star field on the reverse. The highest graded example of this die pairing that appears in our archives is a PCGS/CAC EF-40 from our November 2012 Baltimore Auction. While only a medium rarity among die pairings of the 1798 Heraldic Eagle dollar, the BB-118 is conditionally challenging with most survivors grading VF or EF. As Q.
