Lot Description

1898 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-68 Cameo (NGC). This is one of the finest certified Proof examples and the Cameo contrast enhances the eye appeal. The fields are absolutely reflective and show no signs of handling. The frosted devices are snow-white in contrast and are equally undisturbed by handling. There is a barely detectible hint of peach-gold toning on the brilliant silver surfaces. From a mintage of 735 pieces, this is certainly one of the very best technically and visually.
