1856-O Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-103. Repunched 56. MS-63 (PCGS). This obverse, showing a heavily repunched 56 in the date, was mated with two separate reverse dies. This coin does not display the heavy die striations under the eagle's wing that are seen on the other reverse. Dramatic, variegated mottled patina occurs over both sides, primarily in hues of electric-turquoise, gold, and olive-green. A sharply struck piece with satin luster and distraction-free surfaces.
