- Lot Description
- Browning-4 shares the obverse with B-1, a die famed for proof strikings, but the reverse can be distinguished by noting that "5" in the denomination is shifted right by half a numeral and shows significant recutting. This appears to be an earlier die state as the obverse displays no die cracks, while the reverse has a die crack splitting "C" in the denomination. Pleasing, smoky lavender-grey and chestnut tones graces the obverse, with similar toning on the reverse that cedes to a bit of gunmetal near the centers. Minor abrading is congruent with the grade.
