A second premium Gem Proof 1872 three-cent silver, this coin exhibits particularly impressive target toning on the reverse in steel-olive, cobalt blue and salmon pink iridescence. Equally attractive, the obverse is evenly patinated in steel-olive and champagne-gold. Scarce for both the type and issue with the outstanding quality and eye appeal offered here.
