Lot Description
1800 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-17, BB-196. Rarity-1. BB Die State IV. 12 Arrows. EF-40 (PCGS). Medium silver-gray with patches of golden-russet mixed into the surfaces. Trivial circulation marks are noted when closely examined, but this later die state is interesting with the bold die clashing above Liberty's chest from the eagle's wing, a feature seen on virtually all from these dies as they clashed right from the outset when coinage began. A few are known without this clashing, but very few. Clashing and die cracks abound when studied, making this early dollar another interesting coin for the numismatist to acquire. PCGS# 6890. Provenance: From the Carl and Josephine Legacy Collection.
