Whisenhunt Collection. Sheldon-232. The obverse die is easy to attribute because "T" in LIBERTY was corrected from a prior "Y". The final "S" of STATES is suspended and well-centered over the leaf pairing below. Deep nut-brown patina generally dominates the visual appeal, although the sharpness of details is plain in spite of the modestly low-contrast presentation. A hairline scratch crosses over the center of Liberty's portrait, and on the reverse, one may find some traces of curious, waxy beige residue.
