A dramatically reflective and VERY CHOICE Proof 1883 quarter! Again, this coin is very fresh and high end for the assigned grade. In fact we believe that were it not for a couple of tiny ticks on the obverse, this coin would have been awarded the coveted CAC gold sticker. Intense mirrors beam from all over in the fields, the reverse has a bold nearly DCAM contrast, and both sides display a gorgeous blend of toning similar to the 1881 and 1882 above and 1884 and 1885 below. Only 1,039 Proofs were struck. PCGS 95, NGC 62, CAC 6. Again, the published prices are irrelevant for this old holdered coin, we think it will bring results closer to that of a higher grade when the hammer falls. Cert. Number 126660-003 PCGS # 5584
