1888-S Liberty Seated Dime. MS-65 (PCGS). This originally toned beauty is ringed in blue-gray and reddish-apricot peripheral toning that is bolder and more extensive on the reverse. Well struck for the type with a smooth, satiny appearance. A lower mintage (1,720,000 pieces) issue among late date Liberty Seated dimes, the 1888-S is scarce in the finer circulated and Mint State grades. This handsome Gem is among the finer certified, and its offering in this sale represents a fleeting bidding opportunity for advanced collectors of Liberty Seated coinage.
