1828 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-115. Rarity-2. Square Base 2, Small 8s, Small Letters. MS-62 (PCGS). This is a wonderfully original, vividly toned example with mottled multicolored iridescence around the peripheries. Lighter pearl gray centers, both sides with full satin luster and a sharp strike throughout. Uncommonly smooth for the assigned grade, this endearing piece would do particularly well in a Mint State type set that requires an example of the popular Capped Bust, Lettered Edge half dollar series of 1807 to 1836.
