- Warmly and originally toned in gently mottled rose-russet iridescence, the satiny surfaces support bold to sharp striking detail and flashy mint luster. While produced to a sizable quantity of 2,304,000 coins, most of these were melted, leaving the 1904-S as one of the scarcest and most desirable late date Morgan dollar issues.
