The Small Date has proven to be notably scarcer than the Large Date variety for the 1821 Capped Bust dime, seemingly about three times as rare if certified population date is representative of actual extant examples. Among the Small Dates, JR-9 is one of the more available die pairings, though at and near the Gem Mint State level it is a significant condition rarity. And this is a beautiful premium Choice coin with vivid peripheral toning to boldly impressed, satiny surfaces. Sure to catch the eye of astute bidders.
