1821 Matron Head Cent. N-1. Rarity-1. AU-50 BN (PCGS). An overall glossy piece showing trivial surface roughness under inspection. The patina is a lovely marbling of chocolate brown and hazelnut tones that shows the most richness under a light source. True friction remains minimal and the complexion is free from any distracting abrasions. A slight softness is seen to the stars, though the balance of the devices remains nicely defined. An example of Noyes Die State B/B featuring a reverse rotation of about 15 degrees counterclockwise. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection. Earlier ex Heritage's sale of August 2017, lot 3052.
