1849 Braided Hair Cent. N-27. Rarity-4. MS-65 BN (PCGS). CAC. Soft underlying luster upholds warm violet and blue iridescence on the chocolate brown surfaces of this satiny Gem large cent. The strike is bold with just a few obverse stars lacking their central radials, with the balance of the design crisp on both sides. Choice for the grade and a coin that holds up admirably to magnified inspection. PCGS# 1886. NGC ID: 226F. Provenance: From our sale of the Collection of a New England Museum, May 2013, lot 99.
