- 1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-42. Rarity-4-. Head of 1794. EF-40 BN (NGC). CAC. An original and appealing mid-grade Liberty Cap cent with dominant medium brown patina to both sides. Lightly struck along the lower obverse and upper reverse borders, the latter typical of the variety, yet with a clear date on the former side. Fewer marks are seen than might be expected at this grade, although an extremely fine scratch to the right of Liberty's lips extends to the border at 3 o'clock. An overall boldly defined example of this scarcer die marriage of the 1794-dated issue PCGS# 35591. NGC ID: 223P. Click here for certification details from NGC.
