Description du lot
Nicely toned on both sides. Pleasing natural "old gray" and antique silver-brown patina throughout with a few areas of steel iridescence as in the field before Liberty. The rims are full and choice, the fields and devices quite smooth and mar-free for this marvelous early silver dollar featuring Liberty with flowing hair. Pop 4; 9 finer.

As is the case with the obverse used to coin BB-27, the present obverse (also used to coin BB-22 and BB-23) had the head of Liberty deeply impressed into the die, causing it to be in slightly higher relief than most other varieties of 1795; because of this, the hair details wore away quickly as the coins circulated.
Estimated Value $11,000 - 13,000.
