Description du lot
1806/5 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-104a, T-1. Rarity-5. Large Stars. VF-35 (PCGS). An engaging late state example from these dies that will certainly catch the eye of advanced early half dollar enthusiasts. Delicate reddish-rose peripheral iridescence is a bit warmer on the obverse, both sides predominantly brilliant in and around the centers. Appreciable luster remains, unusual for the assigned grade, with all major design elements bold apart from softness to the end of Liberty's bust and in the opposing area on the reverse. Tompkins Die Stage 5/4. Provenance: From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection. Earlier from Superior's sale of the H.W. Blevins Collection of Early Half Dollars and Silver Dollars, June 1988, lot 3094. PCGS# 6077. NGC ID: 24EK. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
