Lot Description

1722-H French Colonies Sou, or 9 Deniers. La Rochelle Mint. W-11840. VF-35. 86.7 grains. Extremely sharp, but nearly black and evenly granular, likely from soil corrosion. Some raised roughness is present. The devices and legends are barely worn, though the reverse is aligned towards 6 o'clock at the cost of nearly all of DOMINI. Still plenty sharp enough to see the devices. Craige called this 15-O. PCGS# 158629. Provenance: From the Ted L. Craige Collection.
