1868 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-5. Rarity-3-. AU-55 (PCGS). After a stretch of modest five-figure mintages from 1861 through 1867, the 1868 issue blossomed forth with a total production run of 162,100 pieces. Much of that mintage saw duty in overseas commerce, and high-grade examples available to today's collectors exist mostly because of chance rather than intention.
