Lot Description

1838 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-7. Rarity-1. MS-64+ RB (PCGS). CAC. A lovely example at the threshold of full Gem quality, both sides are well struck, minimally marked and actually very smooth in outward appearance. Light rose-brown patina predominates, but we do see considerable rose-red luster outlining many of the devices. A wispy abrasion in the center of the obverse might be the only impediment to an even higher grade. PQ!
