1881-CC Liberty Half Eagle. Winter 1-A, the only known dies. AU-53 (NGC). The 1881-CC (13,886 coins struck) is the rarest Carson City Mint Half Eagle that dates to the 1880s. We offer here a lightly circulated survivor that retains much of the original satin-to-softly frosted luster. Rose-gold in color, with bold-looking devices and mostly small, wispy abrasions. Accuracy does compel us to mention a few moderate-size ticks and grazes to the obverse portrait.
