Ex Classic Liberty Collection, as noted on the insert. While a common issue in AU and lower Mint State grades, this amazing CHOICE BU example is the SINGLE FINEST GRADED by either service! Its quality and eye appeal are all there. Struck from an early state of the dies, there is a distinctive semi-reflective nature to the brilliant rolling luster. With a glass you can see just how fresh the dies were when this one was struck as there are a number of die polish lines that were not struck out from use. Every detail is razor sharp with full, crisp definition seen on both sides. The surfaces have some minor contact, but they are not at all hacked up. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 0, NGC 1. While this coin sold for $17,400 in 2019, we like it as much or more than the PCGS MS63 that sold a decade ago for nearly $28,000.
