1797 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-3, BB-71. Rarity-2. Bowers Die State III. Stars 10x6. VF-35 (NGC). One of the most popular <i>Guide Book</i> varieties, the BB-71 is readily identified by the most obvious diagnostic: 10 stars can be found near the left-facing rim while 6 may be found near the right-facing rim. This piece is lightly toned in slightly mottled shades of silver-gray. One will encounter a few scattered ticks throughout, and a single dark spot is mentioned adjacent to the eagle's left (facing) leg. Otherwise boldly impressed and possessed of moderate rub and a touch of central striking incompleteness.
