- 1882 Pattern Liberty Nickel. Judd-1691, Pollock-1893. Rarity-6+. Proof-64 BN (PCGS). The design is nearly the same that the Mint used to strike regular issue Liberty Nickels from 1883 through 1912, but the stars around the obverse periphery are arranged somewhat differently. Struck in copper with a plain edge.<br /> Deep reddish-copper patina to both sides, the obverse also with a few blushes of lighter sandy-orange color. A sharply impressed, smooth-looking specimen that is only limited in grade by slight muting of the surfaces.
